COMBIUM has several functions for helping the user make optimal choices. With the Data Selector new powerful possibilities are available!
Let’s say that you are about to select an electric motor to drive a machine that you are configuring. You have a number of requirements like minimum output power, number of poles, voltage and frequency.
But should you select the cheapest, lightest or the most energy efficient motor? Should you select a motor with marginally too little power or an unnecessary large?
This is a typical scenario where different values shall be set against each other and be valued. Something that is best left to the user who need relevant information to make the decision.
The function Data Selector in COMBINUM Product Data is doing just this. The user can chose between different alternatives that are presented in a table after first being filtered and sorted based on wishes and requirements.
The company Wedholms has just gone live with its integration between COMBINUM and the ERP system Jeeves.
Wedholms manufactures milk cooling tanks which ensures that the milk remains fresh.
The sales rep or the distributor creates quotes in COMBINUM by configuring milk cooling tanks based on the wishes of the customers. The item based prices are calculated in real time by COMBINUM which has access to the item structure down to a modular level.
The order is put in COMBINUM which through the integration creates an order object in Jeeves with the right modular items. Furthermore, the modules are grouped below configured items which are created for new combinations.
After an order has been put it can be tracked in COMBINUM by status and delivery date which is updated from Jeeves.
It’s becoming increasingly common with high resolution screens like 4K. A trend that contributes to increased productivity by for example letting you work with programs side by side. But it also causes problems.
To avoid texts and icons to become too small to read you can scale the display by increasing the DPI setting from for example 100 % to 150 %.
Almost all Windows programs then scales texts, icons, buttons etc. to the chosen percentage. But some programs becomes blurry.
The reason for the blurriness is that Windows takes care of the scaling on its own for programs that are not built to manage different DPI’s.
COMBINUM Architect is since version 2.8 DPI aware and also all icons and images exists in a long range of sizes that are chosen automatically for the best sharpness and degree of details.
